Lewis and Clark Scenic Byway Corridor—“Garden Path”
May 26 all-day

Lewis and Clark Scenic Byway Corridor—“Garden Path”  Saturday, May 26th from 9am to 5pm US  on Highway 75 and 77 for most of the stops.

A self-guided auto-tour along the Scenic Byway focused on Gardening. Side roads and routes will be noted and Yard Signs will mark turns and stops along the routes.

Brochures will be available mid May at each stop on the Path and before the event starts at several  garden shops on the route, or the South Sioux City and Blair Chamber offices during their weekly hours.

40 plus gardens, museums, greenhouses, wineries, gift shops, florists, farmers markets, home landscapes, community gardens, orchards and restaurants are included.  Beyond this there are festivals, art shows, music and even dances along the way. Oakland will be celebrating their 150th Anniversary on the Memorial weekend and Fort Atkinson has their Living History Event on Saturday June 2nd.

Stars, Strolls & S’mores Moon Walk Wednesday, May 30th at 7:30pm at Wood Duck Wildlife Managment Area in Stanton County. Presentation include a wild herb walk, frogs and toads of Nebraska and night photography.

The Moon Walks will be held on Wednesday evenings close to the full moon and begin at 7:30 p.m. Most Moon Walks last for 1-2 hours. Participants will walk an average of 1 mile round trip. Each Moon Walk starts with a short introduction of that evening’s program, followed by a hike to a designated area where we enjoy presentations. Presenters are experts in their field and are from our local community. The evening wraps up with FREE s’mores!

Welcoming them to town will be volunteers from the American Veterans Park . They will be serving a meal in the Dinklage Building in the Cuming County Fairgrounds. The meal is sponsored by Stokely Funeral Home with all proceeds going to benefit the American Veterans Park. The public is welcome to attend.

The public is also invited to join them the next morning for breakfast that will be served by the West Point Trails & Pathways Committee. The Trails & Pathways Committee will begin serving scrambled eggs, little smokies, an assortment of coffee cakes that are being donated by area volunteers, fruit, juice, and coffee beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the Dinklage Building.
